Department Chair Achievement
Dr. Damm really enjoyed her time as Department Chair from 2017 to 2022. In that time, she was able to create a rigorous evaluation process that promoted excellence in teaching and provided ample opportunity for growth. She hired 8 new part time faculty that continue to uphold high standards in rigor and competence. She maximized the schedule by using outside models and her own internal projections. She was able to keep enrollment patterns above average across the college and division, despite state wide enrollment declines. She requested and completed the process for securing 40 chromebooks (with cart) for the department, to be shared by the division. She has successfully petitioned for two full time faculty positions in Psychology. She promoted a department culture of community and collaboration that fostered faculty working together and building off of each others' strengths. She developed and secured regular funding for the Psychology Annual Research Fair, which has now been expanded under Jennifer Czerniawski's direction to a more campus-wide event. Dr. Damm wrote both program reviews due over the course of the last 6 years, both of which were received at Consultation Council with high praise.
